“Sometimes,” said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. “When you are Real, you don’t mind being hurt.”
“Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,” he asked, “or bit by bit?”
“It doesn’t happen all at once,” said the Skin Horse. “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand. — The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams
Are you kidding me? Amazing. You need to see the rest.

For International Women’s Day…here is a photo of myself ‘au natural’. No make-up, no hair-styling, but I am wearing clothes.
God made each of us in his image and we are perfect to Him. That’s really all that matters.

Oh, I’ve had my moments. If I had it to do over again, I’d have more of them. In fact, I’d try to have nothing else—just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day. I’ve been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot-water bottle, a raincoat, and a parachute. If I could do it again, I would travel lighter than I have.
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances, I would ride more merry-go-rounds, I would pick more daisies. — Nadine Stair
So my boyfriend forwarded a half hour video series to me today, by Tony Robbins. For those of you who don’t know, Tony Robbins is the epitome of motivation and awesomeness. Zack (the bf <3) introduced me to him and within the last month or so, I’ve felt my excitement and motivation for moving the direction of my life, my relationships, my career and EVERTYHING, snowballing into action. Seriously. Motivation like this makes me feel like dancing :D
Which brings me to sharing this video. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to raise the standards of their life, and anyone who wants to take all the ‘shoulds’ in their life, and turn them into ‘musts’. Pass this video along too :)
For all you shop-a-holics and fashion lovers…
I heard rumour that J-Crew has opened in Yorkdale! #justsaying
Not gonna lie, I was just watching one of my guilty pleasure shows (Degrassi), when I heard a song in the background that I was digging. Usually when this happens I’ll type the lyrics into Google so that I can figure out what it is and add it to my music collection. I was pleasantly surprised when I found the song and the artist for the song. She only has 5 videos posted to her youtube account, but she’s local to where I grew up and she has a stunning voice, SO I’d like to share this discovery with you. You’ll become a fan :)
